2017 [Hamako Ayu Run Up Project] The 2nd working was held! !

On Saturday, August 26, the 2nd working of this year was held!
The theme of "Let's learn about Katabira RiverKatabira River together!"
Whether it's a river! Know me! Think about it! We carried out fieldwork for this!
On the day of the day, we all entered the river and learned about Katabira River!

The program on the day was like this! Held on June 24
Based on the content of the first session, we conducted a new flow velocity survey, including monitoring viewpoints.
We made efforts to know Katabira River!

After explaining today's schedule in the new building of Asahi Ward government office, we left downstream of Suidobashi Bridge, which will be the venue for casting nets!
On the way, visit the Tsurumine Hashimoto-ryu fishway just completed this year on the way!
The results of the run-up survey that could not be reported in the previous working group came out, so we confirmed the results!

Many ayu that could not be confirmed on the upstream side of the head work before the fishway was installed!
Ayu is definitely going to go up with the improvement of the fishway!

Participants have a ball net and started creature survey!
From children to adults, everyone went into the river and looked for creatures!
In the water quality survey, five places of water were arranged and the difference was confirmed!
I'm asking children to help with the survey!

Compared to the first working, both the type and number of organisms were smaller, but at the first time I was able to meet new creatures such as mokuzu crab and Ugui that could not be collected at the time of the first session!

　

We were able to see many creatures besides river creatures, and we were able to see the biodiversity of Katabira River!

It was found that the water quality was not yet clean.

We asked children to conduct a simple flow velocity survey using ping-pong balls and octopus yarn!

During lunch break, a cleanup operation will be held in the afternoon! In the morning, we conducted a cleanup activity to clean the Katabira River. This time, a lot of garbage, such as vinyl wrapping around tree branches, etc., was collected due to the heavy rain that fell the other day.
A large amount of garbage, such as iron pipes and DVD players, was also collected.
Never throw away trash in the river!
