Children's River Day

In Katabira River, fishways were developed at the head of the Katabira River Yoga Shimo-Hashimoto River and the confluence of Naka-Horikawa from FY2009 to FY2011, and ayu was found near the head of the Tsurumine Hashimoto-ryu upstream.
In response to the fact that a certain effect has been confirmed in improving the moving environment for fish in Katabira River, Yokohama City has formulated the Katabira River Action Plan in which Ayu goes up.
This plan is designed to contribute to the biodiversity of the entire aquatic organisms, with the aim of improving the upstream environment and living environment of fish, etc., using Ayu as an index species.
It is also positioned as a pilot experimental project plan in order to consolidate knowledge about the ideal way of citizen collaboration through river development, and to provide feedback to the master plan for the development of Yokohama, a city where Ayu goes up.
