Creature panel completed
Completion status of installation of creatures panel

・In this river-building activity, a panel introducing photos of creatures such as fish and birds living in Miyakawa was installed at Miyakawa-juku Square. This is intended to make people passing along the river know the creatures of Miyakawa and to increase the number of people who are interested in the river.
・On the day of the event, participants in the river building activities themselves installed plywood and square timber for reinforcement to the panel and installed them in the square. Although there were many labor-intensive tasks such as installing screws, it took a long time, the participants worked well with teamwork and were able to complete the work safely.
・People strolling through the inn square looked at the installed panel immediately, and the effect of the installation was seen.

On-site confirmation at Miyakawa
Status of field confirmation

・On-site confirmation of the locations to be carried out in the next fiscal year's Miyakawa River building activities (Miyakawa-juku Plaza-Miyashita Bridge) and discussed the details of the implementation at the Kamariya District Center.
・In the on-site confirmation, we walked around Miyakawa with the participants and the river coordinator to see what we would do to increase the number of waterside creatures in each area we considered in the previous discussion.
From the river coordinator, various methods such as how to plow the sediment deposited in the river to increase shellfish, and how to install savors (bundles, thin tree branches, etc.) that attracts shrimp etc. There was advice.
・During the discussion, we confirmed where and how to create a home for Ishigumi creatures, and the activity plan after February.

Discussion on river development
Discussion

・Discussions were held on future river development activities.
・Based on the results of experimental construction and creature surveys of creatures, etc., the river environment is divided into three areas: "Sand mud quality improvement area", "Ishigumi dwelling house building area", and "Ishigumi water system area". I decided to work on it.
・Next time, we plan to examine the contents of each area in detail.

Biological Surveys
Observing creatures from biological surveys

・We conducted a biological survey of Miyakawa at the present time to verify the installation effect of living creatures on the creatures of Ishigumi dwellings in the future.
・As a result of the survey while asking the river coordinator how to conduct biological surveys that can be done by the participants, we were able to confirm fish such as chichibu, mullet, goby, and be apple.
・In the future, we plan to conduct biological surveys every season to see how Miyakawa's biological environment will change.

Scenery of stone-built houses
State of stone-built house

・We made a stone group living house of creatures that were canceled last time in rainy weather. The creation of a stone dwelling house is like a fishing reef made of stones to create a porous space preferred by aquatic organisms.
・On the day, with the advice of the river making coordinator, a total of three locations were set up between the inn square and Miyashita Bridge using local stones.
・In addition, bamboo tubes, ropes, tree branches, etc. will be installed so that they will not be washed away between stone groups on a trial basis, and what kind of environment creatures prefer.

5th: October 17, 2021

・Due to rainy weather, the planned creation of a habitat for creatures by the stone group has been canceled.
・During the discussion, I thought about an action plan for future river development activities. In the winter of this year, we decided to make a plan for the future of Ishigumi dwelling houses, conduct biological surveys every four seasons, and measure the effects of building a stone-gumi house.

3rd dispatch of Miyakawa
State of Ishigumi Water System

・An experimental construction of a stone structure was conducted near Miyashita Bridge. Ishigumi Hydrogen is a structure made of stones that are used for the purpose of collecting sand to form a sea or changing the flow of the river. This time, using the stones in the river, we asked the points of the Ishigumi from the river coordinator, and all the participants worked together to complete the Ishigumi water system.
・In the subsequent discussions, based on the proposed plan, we examined the location of the notices.

These public relations will be compiled as a Miyakawa river (signing plan).
・There was also a proposal to provide information to elementary and junior high schools around Miyakawa, and there was also a proposal to cooperate with educational institutions.
・Next time, we are planning to conduct an experimental construction of the Ishigumi Water System, which was postponed this time.

The 1st Miyakawa Dispatch
Meeting

・Discussions were held on the future activities.

For that purpose, there was a proposal to install a bulletin board or a creature panel along the river. We also discussed the improvement of the river environment.
・In the next activity, as one of the improvement of the river environment, we decided to conduct an experimental construction of a stone structure in the river.
