Are soaps and synthetic detergents affect sewage treatment?
Last update date October 4, 2023
We believe that there will be no problem with processing if we use an appropriate amount.
Most components such as fatty acid potassium and sodium fatty acid sodium, which are the main components of soap, are decomposed during the biological treatment process.
Regarding synthetic detergents, the main components of household detergents on the market are often referred to as surfactants LAS (strand-chain alkylbenzenesulfonate) or AE (polyoxyl ethylene alkyl ether), which are easily decomposed by microorganisms. We believe that most of them can be removed as soap.
