Protection of birds and beasts

Last update date April 1, 2024

The “Law Concerning the Protection and Management of Wildlife and the Regulation of Hunting” (hereinafter referred to as the “Bird and Wildlife Conservation and Management Law”) stipulates a system for wildlife protection business plans, wildlife sanctuaries, permission to capture birds and beasts, hunting licenses and registration, etc. In principle, wild birds and beasts cannot be captured. (Some items are permitted, such as those that have been licensed and hunting.)

About breeding of beloved cancer

About capture permission for the purpose of breeding love cancer breeding of white-eye and bunting, it is no longer accepted from April 1, 2008.
This is due to the idea that wild birds and beasts should live as they are, and are treated the same in Kanagawa Prefecture, so please understand.

Protection of injured birds and beasts (injured or sick birds and beasts)

Wild animals remain wild and do not help by humans, but if you really want to help a sick or injured wildlife, you can visit a zoo in Yokohama city to get sick or injured wild animals (injured birds and beasts) for treatment and protection.
The animal is not captured or transported to zoos at city halls or zoos. Please contact the nearest zoo in the city in advance by telephone. As it is business made up of cooperation of citizen's all of you, thank you for your understanding.
In addition, crows, pigeons, and hakubisin are many birds and beasts that may damage citizens' lives, so it is difficult to accept them at the zoo. Because wild animals cannot be accepted, and it is difficult to release the field after recovery).
In addition, pet animals (ducks, rabbits, etc.) and exotic animals (raccoons, squirrels, sea turtles, etc.) are not eligible.

※Last year, in consideration of the fact that outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza was confirmed in Kanagawa Prefecture ahead of the rest of the country, and that it has occurred frequently throughout the country, for the time being, as a measure against highly pathogenic avian influenza. Has been suspended. As it is correspondence to protect birds in park, I would like understanding cooperation.
