Last Updated April 17, 2024
Yokohama City Hall has established policies for environmental actions that employees should take in daily office work activities and operates an environmental management system.
Yokohama City Hall Environmental Action Policy
Yokohama is a big city, but is blessed with natural environments such as water and greenery. It is our duty to protect, nurture, create, and pass it on to the next generation of children.
In cooperation with citizens and businesses, Yokohama City Hall is developing various environmental measures, including measures against global warming, reduction of waste, and green conservation. On the other hand, Yokohama City Hall is also a company that puts an impact on the environment, and it is necessary to take the initiative in daily business activities.
Therefore, in order for each and every staff member to have a high awareness of environmental issues in their daily work and to carry out environmentally friendly actions, we will work to reduce the environmental burden, focusing on the following priority initiatives.
[Priority Initiatives]
1 We will take the following measures to reduce and decarbonize the environmental impact of our daily office work activities.
(1) Promotion of energy conservation
(2) Promotion of 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
(3) Promotion of paperless
(4) Promoting Green Purchasing
2 We carry out training so that the staff understands and practices environmentally friendly actions.
