Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration

With the rapid aging of road infrastructure such as bridges and tunnels, it is necessary to take measures to actively incorporate various perspectives and new technologies in order to maintain and manage with limited financial resources.
City of Yokohama, Road and Highway Bureau has concluded an agreement with the Yokohama Construction Industry Association, the Yokohama Construction Consultants Association and the Yokohama National University Graduate School of Urban Innovation Studies, Yokohama National University, to share the latest information on conservation renewal technology forconservation and tunnels in Yokohamaconservation.

We have confirmed that the four parties will work together to address the crisis of aging road infrastructure.

<Reference> Efforts for university collaboration
On December 22, 2014, City of Yokohama, Road and Highway Bureau concluded a cooperative cooperation agreement with the Graduate School of Urban Innovation Research, Yokohama National University, on "conservation Renewal Technology for Road Bridges and Tunnels in Yokohama City" and decided to study and share information on technologies such as maintenance, repair and renewal of road bridges and tunnels.

Signing Ceremony for Cooperation (Dec. 22, 2014)

A partnership agreement ceremony was held in City of Yokohama, Road and Highway Bureau on December 22, 2014!

  • Purpose of cooperation

Since the collapse of the ceiling plate on the Sasago Tunnel on the Chuo Expressway, awareness of aging infrastructure has been increasing.
Yokohama National University Graduate School of Urban Innovation Studies and City of Yokohama, Road and Highway Bureau have signed a partnership agreement on technology to renew conservation for road bridges and tunnels.
This agreement emphasizes the viewpoint of sharing information, technology, experience, etc. of each other, cooperates, including human resource development, and prevent damage to third parties.
The purpose is to protect citizens' safety and security.

・Basic information sharing of road bridges and tunnels managed by Motoichi and information sharing of deterioration status
