Types of bridges managed by the Bridge Division

In Yokohama, there are many rivers such as the Tsurumi River, a first-class river, Katabira River, Ookagawa and Sakaigawa rivers. In addition, there are many roads that intersect with expressways and railways, and many bridges are built in the city.

Of these, there are currently 1,709 road bridges managed by the Bridge Division, making it an important urban infrastructure that supports citizens' lives and economic activities. .

When the bridge of the road bridge is divided by structural members, "steel bridge" made of iron, "concrete bridge" made of reinforced concrete, "mixed bridge" which is a combination of steel bridge and concrete bridge, It can be divided into "wood bridge" made of wood and stone "stone bridge".

Steel bridges

Of the road bridges in the city, 649 are made of steel.
There are various types of bridges, from simple girder bridges to arch bridges, diagonal bridges, and truss bridges.

Concrete Bridge

The largest number of road bridges in the city is concrete bridges, with 1,024 bridges.
There is also a bridge with a characteristic shape, such as making a pier and a girder one.
