Private use of protruding signs

Road occupation permission, etc.

When signboard installed in building occupies over road (protruding signboard), road occupation permission is necessary, and road private use charges are collected from person who received road occupation permission .
In addition, about setting signboard, we cannot occupy road.

Permission criteria

  • The lower end of the signboard from the road surface must be at least 2.5 meters on the sidewalk and 4.5 meters on the roadway.
  • The output width is less than 1.0 m.
  • It should not be similar to traffic lights or road signs.

There are standards for installation of protruding signs.

Application window

We perform road occupation permission application procedure in each ward Public Works Office.
For details such as private use fees, please contact Public Works Office of each ward.
