Overview

 The Okurayama 3-chome district in Kohoku-ku was an area with many accidents in Yokohama. In addition, there are many cars that speed up the area around the main road and use the loophole, which is dangerous for commuters and students and local residents, and it was necessary to take immediate measures.
In response to local issues, in 2017, we established a “vehicle speed control measures study meeting” consisting of local residents and elementary schools, police, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Yokohama City, etc., was established to consider safety measures for the Okurayama 3-chome area. I decided to proceed.

Demonstration Experiment (October 5, 2017 – November 1, 2017)

 In 2017, we exchanged opinions at the "Vehicle Strong Measures Study Group", and conducted a hump experience session and a demonstration experiment (test construction of humps, etc.)

What is a hump?
By installing trapezoid convexes on the road, the speed of the car.

What is the narrowness?
By narrowing the road, the speed of the car is reduced by passing each other without passing.

This construction

 Because we were able to confirm the speed control effect of the demonstration experiment (test construction of humps, etc.), we exchanged opinions with local residents about the measures and locations, and installed humps and narrows in February 2019. .

Effect verification results

 We continuously analyze data on the driving speed of vehicles before and after the measures to verify whether the speed suppression effect of installing humps and narrow spaces is being demonstrated.
