Q
What do you need when you make a card?
A

Please bring something that can be confirmed by Address (license, health insurance card, my number card, student ID card, etc.).

Q
Do I have to make the card?
A

Family members who have been requested by the applicant can also create it, but we will confirm that the request has been received. You will also need a copy of the applicant's name and Address.

Q
I've lost my card. What kind of procedure is required?
A

To prevent unauthorized use, please contact your library by phone or visit us first.

Q
Address has changed.
A

If you are moving out of the city, please return your library card as you will no longer be eligible to use it if your office or school is not in Yokohama.
If you are moving in the city, please bring a card to confirm the new Address and a card to the library. You can use the card as it is by submitting a change notification.

Q
It's been a long time since I made the card. Do you have an expiration date?
A

From January 2005, the expiration date of the card has been set to 5 years.
If you are not sure if it has expired, please contact the library.

Q
I'd like to see a list of books I have borrowed so far.
A

You can record your loan history by logging in on the Yokohama City Library online catalog page and setting your user information from the My Library menu. Please note that it can be viewed only by the logged-in individuals, and cannot provide information on lending history at the counter or telephone.

Q
I lost (dirty).
A

Please consult with the library you borrowed. As a general rule, you will be required to compensate for the same book. In the case of minors, parents are responsible for compensation.

Q
I can't find the book I want to read in online catalog.
A

Some books do not hit in online catalog because they were just published or not in City Library. Please contact us at the counter or by phone.

Q
It's far from the library. Can I use it nearby?
A

From Chuo-toshokan, the mobile library "Hamakaze" focuses on areas far from the library and provides personal lending. The library card is the same as the Yokohama City Library. For the first time, a library card will be issued on the spot. Books borrowed from the mobile library can be returned at the time of patrol or returned to Yokohama City Library. Books borrowed from Yokohama City Library can also be returned to the mobile library. For more information, please see the City Library website and mobile library.
In addition, you can also use the e-book service that allows you to enjoy reading without visiting the library.

Q
I can't return it within the deadline.
A

If the following person's reservation is not included in the borrowed materials, you can extend the loan only once via the Internet or telephone. The postponement period is 14 days from the date of the procedure, but if the return deadline has passed, the number of days exceeding the deadline and the number of days to be postponed will be reduced. If it has passed 14 days or more, please visit the museum once and return it at the counter. If there is no next reservation, we will re-lending it on the spot.

Q
You can't return it during the opening.
A

On the left hand side of the front entrance of the Kanagawa Library, there is a return post. Available 24 hours a day except for the year-end and New Year holidays.

This is a book that has been published. Please note that unreleased materials cannot be reserved.
Magazines cannot be reserved until the reservation starts, even if the magazine has been released. For more information, please contact the library.

I'd like to read books in the upper and lower volumes and series books in order.
