Ansei 1 (1854) Concluded the Japan-US Peace Treaty in Yokohamamura (opening of Japan)
Ansei 5 (1858) concluded the Japan-U.S. Osamu Good Trade Treaty in Kanagawa.
Ansei 6 (1859) Opened in Kanagawa (Yokohama), Nagasaki and Hakodate (Hakodate)
Mannobu 1 (1860) Set up a watch guard station in the foreign promenade area
Keio 2 (1866) (Most of Kannai was burned down)
Horse race was held at Negishi Racecourse in 1867. Planting street trees in Basyamichi (the beginning of modern street trees)

Showa 3 (1928) The Yokohama Earthquake Memorial Hall opened in Yokohama City Book Chikashi Tachi. Completed Kanagawa Prefectural Office (King Tower). Opened the third-generation Yokohama Station (now Yokohama Station).
Showa 4 (1929) Opened the Commerce and Industry Promotion Center

Showa 10 (1935) Reconstruction Memorial Yokohama Expo held
(1945) Damaged by the Yokohama Air Raid (44% of the city area). The war ended. MacArthur is stationed in Yokohama. U.S. military requisition in the center of Yokohama.

●Events in Yokohama City Library

In 1919, the construction of a library was planned as a project commemorating the 60th anniversary of the opening of the port and the 30th anniversary of the autonomous system.
(1921) began reading books at a temporary reading office in a construction office in Yokohama Park (opening of Yokohama City Library).
The building and collections were destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923. A temporary reading place was set up at the barracks in Nakamuramachi and started browsing.
1924 The temporary main building was completed in Yokohama Park.
Showa 2 (1927) Yokohama City Library was completed at the site of the former Oimatsu Elementary School.
In 1945, relocated to Tobe Elementary School by requisition of the Yokohama Regiment Ward Command Headquarters. The library building was used by the City Reconstruction Bureau following the U.S. military after the war. Moved from Tobe Elementary School to the Education Center.
In 1947, he returned to Noge from the relocation site. Browsing operations at the open-air ceremony.
(1950) Individual lending outside the building started. Admission is free due to the promulgation of the Library Law.
Started lending business in 1954. The library director (actress Keiko Kishi) is held as a reading week event.
Showa 34 (1959) Purchased a car for library library borrowed. Full-scale distribution of books began in January of the following year.
Opened Hiyoshi Reading Office in 1960 (moved to group lending in September 1944).

Opened Tsurumi Library, Kanazawa Library, and Kohoku Library in 1980. There will be 7 buildings in City Library.
Opened Hodogaya Library in 1982. There will be eight buildings in City Library.
Opened Seya Library in 1985. There will be 9 buildings in City Library.
Asahi Library opened in 1986. It will be 10 buildings in City Library.
The Konan Library was opened in 1987. There will be 11 buildings in City Library. Opening hours of the regional library from Tuesday to Thursday afternoon. Extended by 7 o'clock (Friday at 7 o'clock on Friday). Kanagawa Library is open. There will be 12 buildings in City Library.
Opened in Izumi Library, Sakae Library and Naka Library in 1989. There will be 15 buildings in City Library.
In 1990, the Yokohama City Library was dismantled and started construction of Chuo-toshokan.
1991 Joined the Kanagawa Prefectural Library Information Network System (KL-NET).
Opened in Minami Library in 1992. There will be 16 buildings in City Library.
Opened in Chuo-toshokan in 1994. Full operation of the library information system.
Opened Tsuzuki Library and Midori Library in 1995. There will be 18 buildings in City Library. Achieving one building in the first ward.
1996 Launched a delivery service for people with disabilities who have difficulty visiting the museum in Chuo-toshokan.
1998 Opened the library homepage and started the online catalog service via the Internet.
Relocated to Isogo Library and Isogo Ward General Government Building in 1999.
Opened on Friday, Chuo-toshokan, 2000. Extend the time by 8:30 p.m.
Opened on Monday at the entire City Library building in 2001.
2005 "Yokohama's Memory" Yokohama's Memory was released on its website.
2008 (2008) Reservation service on the Internet.
