Digital Archive Yokohama's Memory Usage Guide

Municipal Central Library is a database that allows Yokohama's Memory to search digital images such as print materials, pictures, postcards, and other digital images, using keywords and chronology.

Introduced materials
The materials and information currently provided are as follows.
Search for materials (advanced search of materials)
Books
It contains about 5,000 items, including materials related to Yokohama from the opening period to the Meiji period and administrative materials of Yokohama City. In addition, it is possible to search the table of contents information for some materials such as "Yokohama City Bulletin". The table of contents will be added in the future.
Picture postcard
In addition to the painted Yokohama postcards, it contains about 4,000 items, including postcards that record the earthquake and reconstruction are recorded.
Ukiyo-e
Contains about 400 Ukiyo-e paintings depicting Yokohama from the opening of the port to the early Meiji era and about 400 Ukiyo-e paintings on Tokaido (Mishukuba in the city).
Picture map, history map
It contains about 200 items, including picture maps from the opening of the port and maps damaged by the Great Kanto Earthquake.
Photograph
Contains approximately 2,500 photographs of the past and present, collected by the Yokohama City Library with the cooperation of local people. Aoba Ward photos are also available on the Aoba Ward Scenic Photo Database (external site).
Other images
It contains about 400 items, including images such as play numbers and illustrations of "Yokohama Port Opening Observation Magazine".

It contains 15,000 chronological tables of "Yokohama History Chronology" (1953), compiled by Yokohama City, as well as the City Counsil, Yokohama Port, and Landfill.
