Payment of transfer costs

In view of the patient's symptoms, the National Health Insurance recognizes that it is necessary to conduct a review, such as when a patient is difficult to move and the facility of the medical institution cannot provide sufficient medical treatment and is urgently transferred under the direction of a doctor. If so, you will be paid for the transfer. (It is not eligible if used for outpatient visits.)
Cases in which transfer costs are paid
- When an injured patient is urgently transferred from a disaster site to a medical institution.
- It is necessary to go to a hospital or injured on a remote island, etc., and the symptoms are severe, and the necessary medical care is impossible or extremely difficult at a medical facility near the place where the injury or illness occurred. When transferred to the nearest medical institution that can receive medical care.
- A patient who is difficult to move and cannot provide sufficient medical treatment at the facilities of the medical institution due to the symptoms of the patient, and is urgently transferred under the direction of a doctor.
Expenses to be paid
- Costs for using cars, etc.
- Costs when a doctor or nurse is required (in principle, up to one person)
The amount paid is the amount calculated based on the cost transferred by the most economical normal route and method (if the amount exceeds the actual cost, the actual cost). If it is within the standard, the insured will be paid in full as a transfer fee. If the patient pays the cost of medical management by the attending physician or nurse, it will be paid as medical expenses.

※Please note that two years after paying the fee, the statute of limitations will expire and you will not be able to apply.
What is required for application
- Health insurance card
- Copy of bank passbook or account number etc.
- Statement of opinion of doctor who needs transfer
- Receipt of the cost of the transfer (transportation section and distance)
※If you want to transfer money to an account other than the head of household, you need private seal (the name of the head of household using vermilion).
