Payment of injury and illness allowance (COVID-19 infection related)
[If you are under 74 years old and have taken out Yokohama City National Health Insurance] The sickness and sickness allowance is paid when a member of the National Health Insurance is infected with COVID-19 infection, or has symptoms such as fever and is suspected of being infected, leaving the company, etc., and not receiving sufficient salary from the employer Will be paid.

Payment requirements
Target person
Those who meet all of the following four conditions
(1) Being a member of Yokohama City National Health Insurance who has been paid salary.
(2) Being infected with a new coronavirus infection or having symptoms such as fever and suspected infection, it is no longer possible to work for medical treatment.
(3) Leave work for three consecutive days, and there must be days after the fourth day.
(4) Not be paid for salary, etc., or has been partially reduced.
Period covered by payment
From the day three days after the day when you can no longer work for labor, the day you plan to work (up to one year and six months) during the period during which you cannot work for that labor cannot be served.
(Note 1) If you cannot confirm the date you plan to work, you will not be eligible.
(Note 2) Target period: From January 1, Reiwa 2 to May 7, Reiwa 5 (three days have passed since the day when labor could no longer be accepted)
Amount paid
(Total salary income for the last three months divided by working days) x 2/3 x number of days
(Note 1) However, if the salary is partially reduced and paid, or if compensation for absence from work can be received, the amount paid may be reduced or not paid.
(Note 2) There is an upper limit on the amount of payment.
FAQs
Applicable to those who have earned income under the Income Tax Law.
Freelance ( sole proprietorship) is not eligible because it is business income.
However, in the case of a corporation, it is eligible because salary is paid as officer remuneration (salary income).
You will be eligible. Age, occupation, and employment form do not matter if you are paid.
Close contact persons with no symptoms are not eligible.
Depending on the status of the test, such as when you have symptoms, you may be eligible, so please consult with your ward office Insurance and Pension Division.
The application for the sickness and sickness allowance will be made to employee health insurance.
If you are enrolled in employee health insurance other than Yokohama City National Health Insurance, please check your health insurance card and contact the listed employee health insurance.
Applications up to May 7, 2023 will be eligible for payment three days after the date of no longer being able to submit labor (4th day).
<Example 1>
・From May 4, 1995 to May 11, 1995, when it is impossible to work for medical treatment
As May 7, 2023 is the fourth day, eligible for payment
<Example 2>
・From May 7, 1995 to May 14, 1995, when it is impossible to work for medical treatment
As May 10, 2023 is the fourth day, it is not eligible for payment.

※Please note that if two years have passed since the day after the work was absent, the statute of limitations will expire and you will not be able to apply.
