National Health Insurance subscribers (insured)
Except for those who are enrolled in employee health insurance at work and their dependents, and those who are receiving welfare, all those who live in the city must have Yokohama's National Health Insurance. Hmm.
※If you are between 20 and 60 years old, you must also join National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin).
- For example, the following people must join.
- Self-employed person / agriculture person
- Pension pensioners and unemployed
- Those who are out of support for those who are enrolled in employee health insurance, etc. at work
- Foreigners who have legally resided for more than three months
Those who have retired from the company and received pension may fall under Retiree Health Care System.
For those aged 70 and over, please refer to "medical expenses for those aged 70 and over."

Everyone is supposed to join some kind of employee health insurance. You have to join even if you are not going to see a doctor. Except for those who can join employee health insurance, please proceed immediately.
Ｑ＆Ａ： Can I become a dependent of employee health insurance at work? ・・・
As a general rule, those who earn less than 1.3 million yen in income for the next year (less than 1.8 million yen for persons aged 60 and over and disabled persons) and earn a living from the income of policy holder of health insurance at work are recognized as dependents. In this case, you will not be able to apply for National Health Insurance. For more information, please contact your employer or your employee health insurance office (pension office or health insurance union).
