Minato Mirai Honmachi Elementary School (Nishi Ward)

Minato Mirai Honmachi Elementary School in Nishi Ward was established on April 1, 2018 to respond to the increase in the number of elementary school studenｔ Elementary School in Naka Ward and to improve the educational environment in elementary school studenｔ. In consideration of the future decline in the number of elementary school studenｔ and the impact on the accumulation of business and commercial functions in the Minato Mirai 21 district, the school has been designated as a provisional elementary school for 10 years from fiscal 2027.

In response to the consultation from the Board of Education, the Yokohama City School Scale Optimization Exploratory Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”), which consists of areas related to Honmachi Elementary School, PTA representatives, school officials, etc. We have set up the Second Area School Opening Preparatory Subcommittee (hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”) and have been examining the school area, school name, school safety, etc. of the newly established elementary school.
The subcommittee held a total of five times over a period of about eight months from January to September 2015, and summarized the results of the examination in a written opinion. We discussed in committee and reported to Board of Education according to statement of position that had you put together in sectional meeting. .
Requests for school safety have been submitted to Director General of Nishi and Naka-Director General.
