What is Super Science High School?
Super Science High School (abbreviation: SSH) is a project that has been conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology since FY2002. In order to foster future international science and technology human resources, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology designates high schools that provide advanced science and mathematics education, conducts curriculum development and practice, promotes research on issues, observes and experiments, etc. This is an initiative to carry out problem-solving learning.
Efforts at Yokohama Municipal High School
At Yokohama Municipal High School, Yokohama Science Frontier High School has been recognized for its cutting-edge efforts and has been designated as SSH for five years from FY2010 to FY2014, and for five years from FY2015 to FY2031 (Reiwa 2015).
