Preparation for Disasters

evacuation shelter is a place where people can live in evacuation for a certain period of time if they cannot live at home due to an earthquake. All evacuation shelter will be opened when earthquakes with seismic intensity 5 or more are observed in Yokohama city area. In Kohoku Ward, 29 elementary and junior high schools have been designated as evacuation shelter. evacuation shelter can be found on the Kohoku Ward Disaster Prevention Map.

This is a place to temporarily evacuate from the radiant heat and smoke when fires caused by a large earthquake occur frequently and the fire spreads. evacuation area can be found on the Kohoku Ward Disaster Prevention Map.
※It is not a place to live in an evacuation life.

Parks and vacant lots that are temporarily evacuated to ensure personal safety. It is voluntary by Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations.

Designated emergency evacuation sites is a place to temporarily evacuate from a disaster and is established with evacuation information. It is designated by the evacuation shelter in the city for each type of disaster. Therefore, not all evacuation shelters will be opened in the event of a flood.
