Evacuation shelters in the event of an earthquake

evacuation shelter (designated shelter)

evacuation shelter is a place where people can live in evacuation for a certain period of time if they cannot live at home due to an earthquake. All evacuation shelter will be opened when earthquakes with seismic intensity 5 or more are observed in Yokohama city area. In Kohoku Ward, 29 elementary and junior high schools have been designated as evacuation shelter. evacuation shelter can be found on the Kohoku Ward Disaster Prevention Map.

evacuation area

This is a place to temporarily evacuate from the radiant heat and smoke when fires caused by a large earthquake occur frequently and the fire spreads. evacuation area can be found on the Kohoku Ward Disaster Prevention Map.
※It is not a place to live in an evacuation life.

evacuation sites

Parks and vacant lots that are temporarily evacuated to ensure personal safety. It is voluntary by Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations.

Let's think about evacuation at home

evacuation shelter is a place where people can evacuate when they cannot live at home due to an earthquake. If you are able to live at home, please evacuate at home. In case you evacuate from home in a familiar space called home, always stock up on food and prevent furniture from falling over.

Preparation for Flood

Let's check the hazard map

Check the hazard map on a regular basis and check what dangers there is at home during a flood.
Kohoku Ward has the following four types of hazard maps: Both can be obtained at the 44th floor of the Kohoku Ward Office. In addition, you can check the inundation area in more detail by searching for Address on the "Wai Wai Disaster Prevention Map (outside site)".

Designated emergency evacuation sites is a place to temporarily evacuate from a disaster and is established with evacuation information. It is designated by the evacuation shelter in the city for each type of disaster. Therefore, not all evacuation shelters will be opened in the event of a flood. In addition, we may establish public facilities such as district center. When evacuating, it is important to check the latest evacuation sites information on the ward's web page.
