Beware of heat stroke!!
- The total number of transports (using Fire Bureau data) from May 1 to September 30, 2013 was 1,399 (37 in May, 117 in June, 632 in July, 494 in August, 119). From July 14 to September 3, severe heat continued with a maximum temperature of 30 ° C or more and a heat index of 28 ° C or more (July 18, the maximum temperature was 37.3 ° C and the heat index was 32.1 ° C, 54 people), but since September 21, there were many days with a maximum temperature of 30 ° C or less, and the number of transports was less than 4 people / day, and decreased.
- Even in October, there are days when the maximum temperature is 30 ° C or more, so take water frequently, adjust the room temperature appropriately, and protect yourself from the heat. Please take care of yourself so that you do not get sick.
- Heat stroke occurs around May before the rainy season, and tends to occur frequently when hot days continue. In an environment such as high temperatures, the body's thermoregulatory function does not work well, causing heat to build up inside the body.
- Use frequent hydration, use air conditioners and fans to properly adjust the room temperature properly, and do not overdo it when it is hot, and be careful about physical condition management.
- The 80s were the largest at 303 (21.7%), followed by 232 (16.6%) in their 70s.
- With 56.1% outdoors and 43.9% indoors, the number of outdoor outbreaks is increasing.
- Mild 61.9% mild, 35.2% moderate, severe 2.4%, and serious 0.5% severe. The percentage of elderly people (65 years old and older) is high at 53.3%, and there is a tendency for the elderly to become severe.

Points of heat stroke prevention action
(1) Replenish water frequently

- Elderly people need to be careful because their sensory function for heat and lack of water and to adjust their body.
- Special care should be taken because people with disabilities may not be able to complain about their symptoms.
(2) About the use of air conditioner
○ The use of air conditioners is effective to prevent heat stroke. However, general household air conditioners only circulates the air and do not ventilate. Even during cooling, it is necessary to perform ventilation by opening windows and ventilation fans. The indoor temperature tends to be higher due to ventilation, so make adjustments such as lowering the temperature setting of the air conditioner.
(3) About moving to a cool place
○ If you feel any unusual physical condition outdoors, it is effective to move to a cool place (shadow or well-ventilated place) immediately.
(4) About daily health management
○ Get enough sleep and try to have a well-balanced meal.
○ Get to know your body on a daily basis and enhance your health management. Also, if you feel unwell, don't overdo it and recuperate at home.
