Emergency transport of patients with heat stroke nationwide: Until the 40th week of 2019 (September 30-October 6)
Heat stroke often occurs in hot summers, and the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications summarizes the emergency transport status of heat stroke patients from May to September in Japan. The number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke patients from May to September in Japan was 95,137 (including 160 deaths) in 2018, 52,984 (including 48 deaths) in 2017, and 5,0412 (including 59 deaths) in 2016, 5,582 deaths in 2015. For 2018, the number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke patients throughout Japan was very large from May to September. In the month with the highest number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke in the month, 54220 (including 133 deaths) in July 2018, 26702 (including 31 deaths) in July 2017, 26702 (including 31 deaths) in August 2016, 21383 (7, 24 deaths) and 1), 24). For 2018, in the 29th week (July 16-July 22), 23191 people (including 67 deaths) and the number of emergency transports for heat stroke patients and the number of deaths during the week were the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. It was the maximum value since the start of the survey in 2008 by the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of Japan.
In 2019 (Ryowagen), there was a time when the outbreak of heat stroke patients increased unexpectedly in late May. Please see the graph below. In the 21st week of 2019 (May 20-May 26), it is noticeable that the number has increased unexpectedly to 2,128 (including 5 deaths). From May 25 to May 27, 2019, it was very hot nationwide due to the strong warm air that entered the sky above Japan, and even in Hokkaido, on Sunday, May 26, the maximum temperature of 39 degrees 5 minutes was seen in Saromacho. In the 30th week (July 22-July 28), the number increased to 5,792 (including 13 deaths), and the rainy season in the Kanto Koshin region on Monday, July 29 . After that, in the 32nd week (August 5-August 11), 12,970 people (including 22 deaths) and in the 33rd week (August 12-August 18), 7515 people (including 8 deaths) in the 34th week (August 19-August 25), 3,298 people in the week (8, 1). The number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke patients from May to September in Japan in 2019 was 71317 (including 126 deaths), and in the five years from 2015 to 2019, It was the second largest after 2018. By month, August was 36,755 (including 78 deaths), the most common in the five years from 2015 to 2019. In September, there were 9532 people (including 10 deaths), the most common in the five years from 2015 to 2019. In July, the number was 16,431 (including 25 deaths), the lowest in the five years from 2015 to 2019. By prefecture, it is noticeable that there were many Chiba prefectures in September. By prefecture in September, 790 people in Chiba Prefecture (including 2 deaths), 748 people in Osaka Prefecture (including 3 deaths), and 660 people in Aichi Prefecture (including 0 deaths) The fourth place was 574 people in Tokyo (including 0 deaths) and the fifth place was 450 people in Hyogo Prefecture (of which 0 died). Regarding the number of emergency transport personnel by location of heat stroke, housing (including all locations on the premises) was 29.1% nationwide in September and 42.0% in Chiba Prefecture in September, and heat stroke in homes in Chiba Prefecture in September. There were many outbreaks. Typhoon No. 15 hit Chiba Prefecture on September 9, 2019, and a large-scale power outage continued in Chiba Prefecture for a while. In Chiba Prefecture, air conditioning could not be used due to a power outage, so heat stroke may have increased in September.
