Emergency transport of heat stroke patients nationwide (2018)

Emergency transport of patients with heat stroke nationwide: Until the 39th week of 2018 (September 24-September 30)
Heat stroke often occurs in hot summers, and the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications summarizes the emergency transport status of heat stroke patients from May to September in Japan. The number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke patients from May to September in Japan was 52984 (including 48 deaths) in 2017, 50412 (including 59 deaths) in 2016, and 2015 It is 55852 people (including 105 deaths). For 2018, the number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke patients throughout Japan was 95,137 (including 160 deaths) from May to September, a very large number. The month with the highest number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke patients in the month was 26,702 (including 31 deaths) in July 2017, 21,383 (including 24 deaths) in August 2016, and 24,567 people (including 39 deaths) in July 2015. The number of emergency transport personnel in July and August is large. For 2018, July was very large at 54,220 (including 133 deaths), and both the number of emergency transport personnel and the number of fatalities for heat stroke patients per month were conducted by the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in 2008. Since the start of the survey, it has been the highest ever. As for August 2018, the number of emergency transport personnel was as large as 30410 (including 20 deaths). In addition, the week with the highest number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke patients in the week was 7,796 in the 28th week (July 10-July 16) in 2017, and the 31st week (August 1-August 7), 6749 people from August 7, 2015 to 21st week (July 27). For 2018, in the 29th week (July 16-July 22), 23191 people (including 67 deaths) and the number of emergency transports for heat stroke patients and the number of deaths during the week were the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. It was the maximum value since the start of the survey in 2008 by the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of Japan.
In the summer of 2018, there are very large outbreaks of heat stroke patients. Please see the graph below. Looking at the number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke during the week, the incidence increased very much after the 28th week (July 9-July 15). In the 29th week (July 16-July 22), 23,191 people were the highest since the survey started in 2008. After that, it gradually decreased, and in the 39th week (September 24-September 30), there were 117 outbreaks.

The number of emergency transport personnel for heat stroke patients in the week in the graph is all fixed values.
