EOS inspection
Last Updated October 20, 2023
Overview of Inspection
This test involves irradiating X-rays simultaneously from two directions, the front and side, and evaluating the shape and arrangement of the spine and hip joints.
This two-way simultaneous X-ray inspection is called EOS ( inspection using the name of the device system for convenience.
To shoot in a standing or sitting position, you can observe the whole picture of the skeleton with weight on the vertebrae and joints.
It is useful for evaluating spine deformation, scoliosis, osteoarthritis, and osteoarthritis.
Image analysis enables numerical evaluation of the angle of the curve of the spine and the left and right differences in the height of the hip joint.
It is also possible to observe the sequence of vertebras three-dimensionally by creating a simulated three-dimensional image.
Overview of the instrument
sterEOS Stereos)
Manufactured by EOS Imaging Corporation
- It is an unusual X-ray imaging device with only a few units in Japan. (As of October 2023)
- Compared to normal X-ray photography, 50% and 95% compared to CT imaging can be taken with reduced radiation dose.
- In addition, the use of micro Dors mode enables further radiation exposure reduction in children with follow-up and patients with diseases that require frequent imaging during treatment.
