Training to improve dementia responsiveness for professionals (dentists, pharmacists, nursing staff, medical staff)

Yokohama City conducts training to improve the ability to respond to dementia based on the guidelines established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in order to enhance the community healthcare system for dementia.
On this page, we publish a list of "dentists and pharmacists" who have obtained consent to the publication of the list.

Training for dentists to improve the ability to respond to dementia

Purpose

Dementia by conducting training for dentists who are consulted by the elderly to learn the basic knowledge necessary to support the person with dementia and their families and the importance of cooperation between medical care and nursing care, etc. Notifying people at an early stage and respond in cooperation with their GPs, etc., and after that, properly perform dental treatment and oral management according to the situation of people with dementia, and build a support system for people with dementia Will be the purpose.

Targets

Dentists working in the city (including opening a business)

Contents

Contents shall contribute to the acquisition of basic knowledge and cooperation pertaining to people with dementia necessary as family dentists.

Issuance of Certificate of Completion

A certificate of completion will be issued to those who have completed this training.

Pharmacists Dementia Response Training

Purpose

Training for pharmacies and pharmacists who are consulted or after consultation, etc., to learn the basic knowledge necessary to support the person with dementia and their families and the importance of cooperation between medical care and nursing care. By conducting training, we will be aware of people with suspected dementia at an early stage, respond in cooperation with GPs, etc., and continue to properly manage pharmacological management according to the situation of people with dementia, and to build a support system for people.

As a pharmacist, it shall contribute to the acquisition of basic knowledge and cooperation pertaining to people with dementia necessary as a pharmacist.

Nursing staff training for improving dementia response skills

Purpose

For nursing staff who have many opportunities to interact with people with dementia, acquire the necessary basic knowledge in accordance with the process from hospitalization to discharge at medical institutions, etc., and practical ability to respond to the characteristics of individual dementia, etc. By communicating to nursing staff such as medical institutions, the purpose is to properly implement dementia care in medical institutions and build a management system.

Training for healthcare professionals to improve the ability to respond to dementia

We provide training for healthcare professionals who may be involved with dementia to learn correct knowledge about dementia and how to respond to people with dementia. In accordance with the outline of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, it is entrusted to the Dementia Disease Medical Center in the city.
