Discounts on railway fares

When using JR East, private railway, municipal subway or Kanazawa Seaside Line, you can get discounts on fares and their caregivers.
※For caregivers, discount fares will be applied only when traveling in the same section accompanied by the disabled person who is eligible for the discount for the disabled.
Discount fares do not apply if the caregiver is riding alone (including pick-up).

※If the child with a caregiver in the first class is an infant (under 6 years old), the child with a caregiver, the child with a disability is free and a discount will be applied to the caregiver.
※There is no discount on children's commuter pass.

<In the case of tickets>
（１） Present your notebook (page that shows the first or second type) at the ticket sales counter and purchase a ticket. However, if both the person and the caregiver are adults, for the section up to 100 km of business km of *, purchase a child fare ticket at an automatic ticket vending machine and present the ticket purchased to the ticket gate staff and the notebook together. It is also possible to use it. Automated ticket gates are not available.
（２） If you and the caregiver use it, please purchase a ticket for the same section.

<In the case of IC cards such as Suica>
If you ride with an IC card that meets the conditions for applying for the disability discount, the IC fare in 1 yen will be applied. Please enter with an IC card and present your notebook at the ticket gate counter at the participating station.
※When using the train, be sure to carry your notebook and present it when asked by the staff.
※Please note that if you use an automatic ticket gate at the participating station, you will get a discount on unlimited fare.
※Both the person and the caregiver must use their respective IC cards.

The fare discount is based on JR East. However, there is no discount on ordinary tickets in the JR East [Discount details] table, "If the person rides a section exceeding 100km one way alone".

Present your notebook (a page that shows the first type or second type) at the station ticket gate window and purchase a ticket. In addition, according to the usage method of JR East, the handling differs slightly depending on the company.

※About discount to caregiver of second-class person with a disability, we apply only when person with a disability is under 12 years old and lives in Yokohama-shi.

At manned stations (Shinsugida Station, Namiki-Chuo Station, Kanazawa Hakkei Station), please contact the information desk. At an unmanned station (a station other than the above), press the call button (red) of the intercom next to the automatic ticket vending machine, and then place the notebook etc. upward in the yellow part below. After the station staff checks the notebook, etc., if the "Discount" button flashes, press the button first and press the desired ticket type and fare button. It will take some time for the button to turn on.
