1 YOKOHAMA ART in Summer
The world-class international art fair "Tokyo Gendai" will be held in Pacifico-yokohama from July 5 to 7, 2024.
We will exhibit large-scale works at the Yokohama City Hall Atrium, entitled "YOKOHAMA ART in Summer," and develop various art programs at the creative neighborhood, Yokohama-bijutsukan. We have a plan that can be enjoyed not only during the day but also at night. Please come to Yokohama, which is full of art this summer.

An art program planned by "Minatono Art", which has provided a place for artists and galleries and other people who live in art in the city of Yokohama. At the City Hall Atrium, a large balloon art by sculptor Gen Watanabe and three-dimensional works by the three-dimensional modeling project "KUKAN" led by artist Yasuo Kusakabe will be exhibited. The unexpectedness of large art appearing in a public place called the city hall and the work that organically uses the large space of the atrium provide many visitors to the city hall with new art encounters.

An art workshop that can be enjoyed by children and adults, planned by "Minatono Art", which has provided a place for people who live in art, such as artists and galleries, in the town of Yokohama. In the same venue, there is also an exhibition of large art works, and you can appreciate them, move your hands, and create your own art works. Spend time immerse yourself in art in a creative space full of creativity.

BankART1929: Michihiro Shimabukuro solo exhibition "I heard music"
I heard Michihiro Shimabukuro music
Under the title "I heard music", we will hold an exhibition composed of works related to sound and music. Until now, Shimabukuro has collaborated with composers Makoto Nomura and Takehisa Kosugi, musicians Kashin, Moreno Verozo, Art Linzei, and Brazilian barrenist He Pentista. Approximately 10 pieces, including "Cuban Samba", which was unveiled for the first time in Japan, and works that have never been announced in the Kanto area, will meet in the underground space of BankART Station.

At Zounohana Terrace, we will introduce Kazuma Horie in the 12th exhibition series (ZOU-NO-HANA GALLERY SERIES), which aims to create opportunities to meet artists' expressions on a daily basis. Horie is a writer who creates works by disassembling and reassembling the act of drawing. I arrange objects in the space as if I put paint on a canvas and make it a single painting work. We will try to create dialogues and actions with visitors by intervening objects. During the exhibition period, Horie's writers will also gather and hold a Marche and workshop, wrapping the elephant's nose terrace with Horie's world view.

At Zonohana Terrace, the opening hours will be extended on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6, and special night opening will be held at the same time as Tokyo Gendai. There is also a time when artist Kazuma Horie, who is holding an exhibition during the period, will stay, and it will be a place for interaction with visitors. Yokohama-bijutsukan will hold a three-day special exhibition of contemporary artist Yusuke Asai's new work "To the Forest of eight million". This work was newly added to the Yokohama-bijutsukan Collection by commissioning Yusuke Asai to produce the work using donations sent to the Yokohama Cultural Fund in 2023 as a project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Yokohama Shinkin Bank. Please take a look at this work, which mainly uses soil in Yokohama City as a painting material, and has created exchanges with many people and places.

TokyoGendai is a world-class international art fair where art professionals from Japan and abroad come together. This is an event to display and sell works by internationally acclaimed contemporary art galleries from all over the world. It was held in Yokohama for the first time in July last year, and this year will be the second time.

KOGANECHO NOW
The Koganecho Area Management Center offers an artist-in-residence program for artists, craftsmen, designers, architects, and others in Japan and overseas who are active in various fields. More than 50 artists are always making stays using dozens of studios spread throughout the city.
In this exhibition, we will introduce the works of 21 of the artists currently participating in the Koganecho Artist-in-Residence Program.

※About "Minds1020Lab" at Yokohama City University:
A research base for industry-government-academia collaboration at Yokohama City University in which Yokohama City participates. With the aim of launching a new academic field that comprehensively studies the mental issues of young people who feel difficult to live, we aim to build a metacare city where experts from various fields such as mental health, public health, basic medicine, data science, clinical psychology, and music neuroscience participate across industry-government-academia barriers, and young people can easily consult about mental problems in a virtual space.

2 Artist Video Relay

¥ Large-scale exhibition and open production / Hiroko Kubo "Sculpture of Heinwere"
We will openly produce and exhibit the goddess "The statue of Heinwere" appearing in Indonesian mythology. The surface of the work is made of soil, and the fragmented female image lying on the back changes over time due to rain, sunlight and wind. There will also be a public production / talk event by artists and a workshop (outside site) where you can experience the production of works.

Exhibition planning by members of the Port Journey Project (PORT JOURNEYS), an international exchange project with port towns around the world. It conveys the perspective of acting positively toward the future in response to environmental problems that are becoming increasingly serious on a global scale. New exhibitions by Rintaro Hashiguchi, Risa Sato, and Jun Honma will begin on Sunday, March 31.
