Japan, China and South Korea select cities that aim to develop through cultural arts, and hold various cultural and artistic events in that city to promote mutual understanding and solidarity in East Asia. "East Asian Cultural City" that aims to strengthen the international transmission power of East Asian culture.
Yokohama City was selected as the first host city by the government, and during the year of 2014, various cultural and artistic events were held in the city, and actively with Quanzhou City and Gwangju Metropolitan City, which are selected cities in China and Korea. Exchange was held.
Instead of ending the friendly relationship between the three cities in just one year, the “East Asian Cultural City Friendship and Cooperation City Agreement” was concluded in November 2014, and exchanges through cultural arts have been continued since 2014. I am.
