Support for raising children Kanagawa Ward 8 pointed Hazawa Elementary School

　In this month's "Director General People and Town Exploration", we will introduce cabbage cultivation and sales that a third-year student at Hazawa Elementary School works with the cooperation of local farmer Hiroyuki Uchida. At Hazawa Elementary School, third-year students work on cultivating and selling cabbage every year to get familiar with cabbage, a local specialty product.
　Cabbage cultivation starts from seedling from seeds during summer vacation. The third graders have been working hard to care for cabbage, such as watering on duty. Cabbage, which has been poured plenty of affection from the children, has grown up to the state near harvest.

　This year's third graders are planning to distribute recipes at the time of sale so that Hazawa cabbage can be eaten more deliciously. On the day I visited, I sampled five kinds of cabbage dishes. The recipe is taught by a school lunch cooker.
　Third-year students aren't used to handling kitchen knives. The cabbage that these children cooked hard to convey the goodness of local vegetables was very delicious because of the seasoning and heating time, and was very delicious.

　I think it's wonderful to have an environment where you can learn freely and freely while interacting with local people. Through the experience of growing local specialties, we hope that children will love the locals will grow as cabbage.
