May I learned about disaster prevention and reduce disaster damage while taking a walk.

　Since fiscal 2019, Kanagawa Ward has been working with members of the Miwa Laboratory of Yokohama City University and members of the Town Childcare Study Group to prepare for disaster prevention measures for childcare and educational facilities.
　As part of this, children and staff who attend childcare and educational facilities have created Tekutekumachi, a teaching material that allows them to learn about the resources and utilization of the town from the perspective of disaster prevention and reduce disaster damage.
　Tekutekumachi is distributed to approximately 130 childcare and educational facilities in Kanagawa Ward to help raise awareness of disaster prevention among children and staff.

　The other day, I was blessed with the opportunity to take a walk around the town with the children of Matsumi Nursery School using this "Tekutekumachi".
　The purpose of this time is to find a sign indicating "0m above sea level" among 20 types of cards. First of all, at the morning meeting, we all thought about the meaning of the card picture.
　And we left for a walk. It was impressive that the nursery teacher devised and guided and explained so that the children could think of it on their own. In addition, the people of the town passing each other during the walk waved their hands with a smile and gently returned greetings. Looking at such a scene, I realized again that the children were really watching and growing up.
　Since I was a child, I thought it would be a good idea to understand the characteristics of my town where I lived and what dangers they might have, andreduce disaster damage.
