NO.5 Hatsunegaoka Elementary School held a class on taxes.

Last update date June 2, 2022

The other day, I had a class on taxes at Hatsunegaoka Elementary School.
Two Tax Division staff members served as lecturers, and a total of 110 students from 3rd grade 6th graders enjoyed learning about the significance, role, and how they are used.
In the class, we started with the question, "What would happen to our society if taxes were gone?" And used familiar examples so that they could understand the role that taxes play in society. I proceeded with the class.
In the quiz, "How much does it cost per person elementary school student per month to run an elementary school?", The answer was 74,000 yen. (Many elementary school students seemed to imagine it was about 30,000 yen.)
In some cases, the classroom was filled with smiles and laughter, but I asked them to work seriously and said, "I understood the importance of taxes well," "The image of taxes has changed," "Taxes are important to support my life. I knew it was. "
I think it was very good that elementary school students who will be responsible for the future be interested in taxes. The Hodogaya Ward Office will continue to carry out tax-related publicity activities for a wide range of generations, and will make effective use of valuable taxes to realize "a town that has continued to live forever."
