medical expenses deduction (diaper use certificate)

medical expenses deduction (diaper use certificate)
For those who are bedridden for more than 6 months, diaper charges (disposable diaper purchase costs and rental fees) are subject to medical expenses deduction if they have a diaper use certificate issued by family doctor.
If you are not eligible for the medical expenses deduction for diaper charges after the second year, you can file a medical expenses deduction using the family doctor Statement of Opinion issued by the Elderly and Disabled Support Division Ward Office, which has certified as requiring long-term care, even if you do not have a "diaper use certificate".
For details, please see "About grant of" confirmation "for medical expenses deduction pertaining to diaper charges (PDF: 379KB) (PDF: 629KB) ".
