The sewage is clogged, what should I do?

■Clogged part
Before consulting or requesting a Public Works Office or a contractor, drain water from areas other than clogged areas (toilet, kitchen, bathroom, washing machine storage, washroom, etc.) to check the status of drainage.
・If the flow of drainage is poor overall, it is considered that there is a cause for drainage pipes and connections in residential lands, or sewer pipes managed by Yokohama City.

・If only a specific location is not drained, it is considered that the drainage pipe in the building is clogged.

■How to deal with it
1 The cause of the clogging is thought to be the sewer pipe (mounting pipe or sewer pipe at the end of the connection) managed by Yokohama City, so please consult with the Public Works Office of your ward (see the related homepage).
If you are not sure whether the cause of the clogging is either in residential land or in the sewer pipe managed in Yokohama City, please consult with Public Works Office in your ward.
2 If the drainage system (drain pipes) in the building or the drainage system (drain pipes, masu, etc.) in the residential land is clogged, such as around the water in the toilet, kitchen, or bathroom, please clean it yourself.
If you cannot clean it yourself or need to repair it, etc.

※Residential land and buildings are connected from things around the water, such as toilets, kitchens, and bathrooms (the last masu for collecting drainage in residential lands and draining it to the sewer pipe managed by Yokohama City is called "connecting"). The owner should maintain it.

※Please note that some designated construction shops do not clean the drain pipes of toilets (without construction).
