We will conduct a national structure survey in 2024.

We will conduct a nationwide total structure survey for two months from October to November 2024. This survey clarifies the actual situation of people's lives by asking everyone to respond to their daily income and expenditures. The survey results will be used for various policies that are familiar to people's lives, such as examining social security and welfare policies. Purpose of the Survey

The “National Structural Survey” aims to comprehensively grasp the actual situation of consumption, income, assets and liabilities in households, and to clarify household income distribution and consumption levels and structures nationwide and by region. Survey. This survey is a “Basic Statistical Survey” based on the Statistical Law (Act No. 53 of 2007) (a survey to create a basic statistical “National Structural Statistics”), which is particularly important among national statistical surveys. Survey. The survey has been conducted every five years since 1959 (Showa 34), and the 2024 survey is the 14th time.

Survey items

  • Matters concerning households and household members
    Household composition, employment and education status of household members, current housing status, ownership of housing and residential land other than current housing, etc.
  • Matters related to household income and expenditure
    Payment by automatic direct debit, payment to accounts (salary, pension, etc.), daily income and expenditures, etc.
  • Matters related to income and household assets and liabilities
    Annual income, financial assets such as savings and deposits, borrowings, corporate pension contributions, property taxes, etc.

About Investigators

The visiting investigator is a local government employee appointed by the Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture to conduct this survey. The investigator always carries a "investigator's card" with a face photo issued by the Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, and if necessary, such as to confirm the identity of the investigator, the investigator will show the "investigator's card" To do.
