We are looking for statistical investigators.

In Yokohama City, as a statistical researcher, we are widely recruiting those who will be engaged in the work of statistical surveys conducted by the national and prefectural governments with understanding and enthusiasm for statistics.

What is a statistical researcher?

  • In statistical surveys conducted by the country or prefecture, the person who distributes, collects, and inspects questionnaires is called "statistical investigators."
  • Statistical investigators are at the forefront of the survey site and interact directly with the households and offices to be surveyed, and are responsible for the most important part of statistical surveys.

  • Census
  • Economic Census
  • Agriculture and Forestry Census
  • Housing and Land Statistics Survey
  • Basic Survey on Employment Structure
  • National Structural Survey
  • Labor Force Survey
  • Household Survey
  • Monthly Labor Statistics Survey, etc.

Work of Statistical Investigators

The content varies slightly depending on the survey, but is generally as follows.

  1. Attendance of Investigators' Meeting
  2. Confirmation of the scope of the survey area in charge and the target of the survey
  3. Distribution of Survey Forms and Request Forms
  4. Collection, inspection and arrangement of questionnaires
  5. Submission of survey documents to the ward office

Status and Treatment of Statistical Investigators

  • During the survey period, you will have a part-time civil servant appointed by the national or prefectural government.
  • It is strictly prohibited by law to disclose information obtained through the survey to the outside.
  • Accidents during investigation activities are subject to compensation for public affairs accidents.
  • The compensation will be paid for the research activities.

Requirements for Statistical Investigators

  • Those who are 20 years old or older
  • Those who can carry out statistical survey work responsibly
  • Those who can comply with confidential protection
  • Those who are not directly related to tax, police and elections
  • Members of gangsters or those who are not closely related to gangsters
  • Others who do not interfere with the survey activities

To become a statistical researcher

  • Please contact the ward office (General Affairs Division Statistics and Elections Section) where you wish to work.
  • When conducting a survey, the ward office asks the investigator to work in consideration of the scale of the survey and the target area.
