Water Works Bureau Financial Results for FY2022

Summary of FY2022 Yokohama City Water Supply Business Accounting and Industrial Water Supply Business Accounting Financial Statements (Preliminary figures)

Water Supply Business: Revenue increased by ¥2.4 billion and net income of ¥10.2 billion.

Water supply business accounting

(1) Increase in water rate revenue

Water tariff revenue for FY4 increased by 2.4 billion yen (3.2%) including tax from the previous year to 76.4 billion yen due to the application of the new rate revised in July 3rd year.
The amount of water used for housework decreased by 8.92 million m3 (2.8%) compared to the previous fiscal year due to the progress in the elimination of lifestyles due to the impact of COVID-19. However, commercial facilities such as large commercial facilities and accommodation businesses increased by 2.11 million m3 (3.1%) compared to the previous fiscal year.

(2) Net income and increase in accumulated balance of funds

Net income increased by 2.4 billion yen, while toll revenue increased by 2.4 billion yen, due to an increase in power costs by 1.4 billion yen in power costs due to soaring electricity prices and an increase in renewal of aging pipes. This was an increase of ¥ 200 million from the previous fiscal year, to ¥10.2 billion.
The accumulated balance of funds increased by 3.5 billion yen from the previous fiscal year to ¥21.8 billion.

Net income

(3) Utilization of corporate bonds

The balance of corporate bonds was 158.3 billion yen due to an increase in the ratio of corporate bonds from FY2 as a source of revenue for the ever-increasing facility renewal costs.

Industrial Water Supply Business Accounting

(1) Revenue from industrial water bills

Industrial water tariff revenue in FY4 increased by 0.5 billion yen (1.8%) including tax from the previous year, to 2.84 billion yen.

(2) Net income

Net income decreased by ¥0.4 billion from the previous fiscal year, to ¥730 million.

(3) Utilization of corporate bonds

Due to an increase in the ratio of corporate bonds from FY2, the balance of corporate bonds was 3.58 billion yen.

(Reference) Main initiatives in the water supply business

Water supply construction reception center opened in October 2022.

We are working to improve the efficiency of reception and examination procedures for water supply equipment construction, which is necessary for new construction or rebuilding houses.
In October 2004, the “Water Supply Construction Reception Center” was established to improve services and improve the efficiency of Water Works Bureau operations by unifying the application procedures for water supply equipment construction previously performed at seven water supply offices in the city.
In addition, we will further improve the convenience of the electronic application service, which has been in operation since the previous fiscal year, we will work to promote DX and paperless by limiting the acceptance to electronic applications around six years.
