Initiatives related to “2017”

2018 (2018) is 150 years from the first year of the Meiji era (1868).
The government has created a logo mark for 2017, and as a related measure, local governments and local governments.
We have made efforts across the country, including local governments and the private sector.

In Yokohama City, we look back on the Meiji period, which can be said to be the starting point of the development of Yokohama.
To this end, we implemented the following related measures.

●Related History Lecture at Former Hirobumi Ito Kanazawa Bettei
　At the former Hirobumi Ito Kanazawa Bettei, the history lecture “Shintaro Ohashi and Kanazawa” was born in the Meiji era.

　Park green spaces in central coastal areas such as Yokohama Park and Nihon Odori Avenue, which have a history since the Meiji era.

　A delegation with Tomomi Iwakura as the full ambassador departed from the elephant nose wharf in Yokohama to Europe and the United States.

　At the Seya Library in Yokohama, we combine Fuji Xerox multifunction machines with the latest technology.
Photographs of Yokohama during the Meiji period in Municipal Central Library, which were reproduced just like the real thing.

　At the Isogo Library in Yokohama City, Nishiki-e from the opening of the port in Municipal Central Library.

　The history of Yokohama Water Supply, which was born in 1887 as Japan's first modern water supply system, is described in 1887.

●Special exhibition at Former Hirobumi Ito Kanazawa Villa
　The main achievements between Hirobumi Ito's appointment as governor of Hyogo Prefecture and his death are based on themes.
Introducing photos and explanations. The number of display panels is 25, from Hirobumi Ito in Hagi City and other cities.

●Symposium "Boshin War and Regions Seen from the Diary-150 Years of the Meiji Restoration"
　At Tokai University (Shonan School Building), we capture the historical incident of the Boshin War from a local perspective.
At the same time, a symposium was held to examine the state of local communities in modern times.

●Kanto Gakuin University Fall Semester Open Lecture "Study Yokohama: Harris Called for Kanagawa: Why Kanagawa:

　Kanagawa is an important post town on the 53rd Tokaido, and its beach ura is the Tokugawa Shogun family.
