Ocean Hub Yokohama

Last Updated October 2, 2024

a hub of ocean-related activities "Ocean Hub Yokohama"

Since the opening of the port in 1859, Yokohama has been connected to the world at the port and developed through connections with the sea.
Companies, educational institutions, research institutions, etc. related to the marine field are engaged in various activities.
Together with these people, we are working to become a base for marine activities in Ocean Hub Yokohama.

Marine Association of Yokohama

In its Medium-Term Four-Year Plan, Yokohama City has positioned cross-sectional efforts in marine areas as a challenge to Ocean Hub Yokohama. Yokohama is characterized by the location of many companies, educational institutions, research institutions, and government agencies related to the ocean. Taking advantage of these characteristics, we aim to become a base for various activities such as education, research, and industry, and to realize "Ocean Hub Yokohama" where people can feel familiar with the potential of the sea.

On September 28, 2015, we established the Marine Association of Yokohama so that industry, government and academia can cooperate more than ever to develop maritime initiatives.
Focusing on this council, Yokohama is promoting activities related to the ocean and disseminating information.
