City of Yokohama, Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau's Hodogaya Plant (closed since April 2010 and operated as a relay facility for garbage), fire extinguishing activities are ongoing as of 4:00 p.m.
1 Overview
(1)Date and time of occurrence Saturday, March 20 around 4:15 a.m.
(2)Location 355, Karibacho, Hodogaya-ku
(3)Location Concrete garbage pit (place where garbage is temporarily stored) in Hodogaya Plant
(4)Cause unknown cause
(5)Damage status There is no report of damage to humans or surrounding buildings due to the fire.
(6)Firefighting activities are being carried out while separating smoke filled in the building by fire department
2 Facility Overview
The Hodogaya Plant has been shut down since April 2010 and has been operating as a garbage relay facility.
