Eliza R. Sidmore, an American travel writer who created the opportunity for Japan-US cherry blossom exchange. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Nishi Ward system in 2024, the Sidmore Cherry Blossom Association Yokohama donated to Nishi Ward for the GREEN x EXPO 2027.
On December 20, we planted the seedlings in the Kamonyama Park, where the statue of Naosuke Ii, who contributed to the opening of Yokohama, was built by the Executive Committee of the 80th Anniversary of the Nishi Ward System and the Nishi Ward.
The seedlings planted this time will become large trees in a few years and will bloom. We will watch carefully with the local people and take care of them for a long time.
