In Yokohama City, not only the opening period, but also cultural properties of a wide range of eras are located throughout the city area, and until now, the government, owners, citizens, related organizations, specialized organizations, etc., have preserved and utilized cultural properties. Efforts have been made, but with changes in social conditions, issues such as maintenance and management of cultural properties and the development of leaders have arisen.
Therefore, while organizing the current situation and issues related to the preservation and utilization of cultural properties in Yokohama City, visualize the basic direction and initiatives of preservation and utilization are visualized. We decided to devise "Yokohama-shi cultural assets preservation utilization area plan" based on the Cultural Property Protection Law to promote approach of preservation, utilization systematically and continuously.
