The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has been awarded the Minister of Education to schools, libraries, and organizations (individuals) that have been conducting distinctive and outstanding practices since 2002 to contribute to the further promotion of children's reading activities.
In 2023, 226 schools, libraries and organizations (individuals) were awarded nationwide, and in Yokohama, Terao Elementary School (Tsurumi Ward), Honmoku Minami Elementary School (Naka Ward), and Naka Library (Naka Ward) were awarded.
