The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has set schools and communal kitchens that have achieved excellent results as “school lunch excellent schools, etc.” in order to spread and enhance school lunches, and individuals and groups as “School Lunch Contributors” every year. This time, Yokohama Municipal Koki Elementary School (1382-10, Kouki-cho, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama-shi) received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology commendation as "Excellent School Lunch School".
(In addition, five schools, including Koki Elementary School, have been awarded "Excellent School Lunch Schools" nationwide.)
