This is the first Japanese port to participate in Blue Visby Consortium (Blue Visby Consortium), which aims to optimize ship navigation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships by utilizing digital technology.
Analysis and empirical studies of the Consortium have shown that using Blue Visby Solution built by the Consortium, ships can reduce greenhouse gases by more than 15% if they jointly adjust voyage speed and arrival time.
Through participation in this consortium, Yokohama City will work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ships and create carbon neutral ports.
