Sankeien is a Japanese garden with many historically valuable buildings, including important cultural properties and tangible cultural properties designated by Yokohama City. . IKEA Kohoku proposed to provide 127 LED bulbs to Sankeien. LED bulbs have the effect of reducing the environmental burden, such as improving energy saving and reducing CO2 emissions. In addition, since LED bulb lights do not contain ultraviolet rays, it has the effect of not damaging cultural properties, and it was a proposal that has advantages in both economic and cultural properties. On the occasion of the "Scandinavian Art Exhibition" held at the park, a rest area using Scandinavian furniture was set up in gassho-style buildings, etc., creating a space where visitors can enjoy cultural arts slowly.
IKEA Kohoku and Yokohama City signed a partnership agreement for a society that harmonizes with the environment.
Yokohama City is implementing policies aimed at reducing global warming and realizing a sustainable society. In 2015, we concluded a partnership agreement with IKEA Kohoku to create a society that is in harmony with the environment. We are promoting energy-saving measures. As part of this initiative, the Yokohama Akari Project, we are developing activities to promote the spread of LED bulbs with high energy-saving efficiency as an initiative to reduce CO2 emissions from homes. Co-creation with Sankeien has become a good example of promoting the spread of LED bulbs, an energy-saving activity that is familiar to visitors.
