Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, BCPs (Business Continuity Plans) have been formulated nationwide in order to quickly secure personnel, equipment, information, etc. in the event of a disaster where business functions decline. Yokohama City has the largest number of sewerage assets among government-designated cities nationwide, and the challenge was how to return quickly to minimize the impact on citizens' lives in the event of a disaster. Among them, Zenrin Co., Ltd. and Yokohama City have concluded an "Agreement to Build Cooperation in the Event of a Disaster". Subsequently, utilizing the company's map creation know-how and the Yokohama City Sewerage Business's experience in the event of a disaster, we developed a prototype system that can quickly investigate the damage information of sewer pipes in the event of a large-scale disaster.

Improve efficiency of public infrastructure management by utilizing private assets and technologies

In the “Sewage pipe field survey drill assuming a disaster” conducted using this system, the time from drafting a survey plan to conducting a field survey, collecting information, etc. was reduced to half so far. . In addition, it is thought that it will be possible to proceed quickly even when receiving the support of staff from other cities that do not have a sense of land, which is expected to lead to early disaster recovery. This initiative was awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award (Circular Michi Sewerage Award) as an advanced example nationwide. .
