2023 (22nd) Kanagawa Science Summer Implementation Report

On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, the "Paper Tower Challenge" was held at the Yokohama Industrial Technology Support Center. With 20 people participating, six teams competed for the height of the paper tower.
First, we learned the characteristics of the high tower, then held a strategy meeting for each team, and took on the challenge three times. I was nervous in the first self-introduction, but when the strategy meeting and work started, everyone shared their opinions and worked seriously and happily. While devising how to fold and the number of pillars, each group created a tower exceeding 150cm, and the championship was 185.0cm of the three groups!
Thanks to the active participation of the participants, it was very exciting. Thank you very much to all the participants!

Every team was able to create a high tower.

Let's see the sound using salt!
The high, low, and sound are the vibrations of the air, and the vibrations cause membrane resonance. I made a whistle with a straw, observed how the air vibration changed by blowing, the resonance changed by sound, and the way the salt grain jumped changed.
