Beef traceability system

Overview

The introduction of the beef traceability system enables us to understand production and distribution information.


With regard to beef traceability system, in response to the outbreak of BSE in Japan in September 2001, the Special Measures Law Concerning the Management and Communication of Information for Identification of cattle was enacted to ensure consumer confidence in the safety of domestic beef.
According to this law, all cattle have a 10-digit individual identification number, date of birth, male and female, individual identification number of mother cow, breeding ground and breeder between birth and slaughter, transfer / transfer / transfer A "livestock individual identification system" has been introduced to accumulate information such as date, date of slaughter, or date of death.

The Special Measures Law Concerning the Management and Communication of Information for Identifying Cattles is stipulated in the Act on Special Measures for the Management and Communication of Information for Identifying Cattles.
Production and slaughter are scheduled for December 1, 2003.
The distribution and sales stages came into effect on December 1, 2004.
