You can receive various benefits by attending seminars and other events. (Specific Business Assistance, etc.)

Seminars that provide continuous support to learn the knowledge of "management", "finance", "human resource development" and "market development" are certified by the government as "special founding support business".

Eligible Certificates

Only those who have received support such as seminars after 2020 and who meet any of the following are eligible.

Individuals who are not currently engaged in business and are going to start a business in the future
Those who have been in business for less than 5 years

※In the case of the establishment of a second company, it is not eligible. (If the second generation representative who succeeded the business is also involved in management, it is considered that it was founded and is not eligible.)

1 Benefits

■Benefits to receive after attending seminars, etc.
Merit 1	Reduction of registration license tax When a sole proprietor before or for less than 5 years establishes a company in the city, a corporation or a limited liability company is required. Registration and license tax of 0.7% of capital is reduced to 0.35% (in the case of minimum tax, half the price of 75,000 yen and 30,000 yen, respectively) ※From April 1, 2024, partnership companies and joint-stock companies are no longer eligible. It can also be used online for "one-stop corporate establishment service (outside site)"
Merit 2	Benefits of the Yokohama City Small and Medium Enterprise Loan Program “Foundation Fund” It will be available 6 months before the start of the business. (usually one month before an individual or two months before a company)
Merit 3	Benefits from the Yokohama City Small and Medium Enterprise Loan Program “Startup Fund” The loan interest rate will be reduced. (within 1.9% ⇒ within 1.5%) The guarantee fee rate will be fully subsidized. ※Only available to companies (not available to sole proprietors or general incorporated associations)
Merit 4	Benefits at the Japan Finance Corporation Loan interest rate reduction in “new opening funds (outside site)”. 　※For more information, please contact the Japan Finance Corporation.
Merit 5	Benefits from subsidies and subsidies You can apply for the "Vacancy Store Opening Subsidy Project". You can apply for the "Foundation frame (subsidy upper limit of 2 million yen)" of the "Small Business Sustainability Subsidy (outside site)".

In the case of a second company establishment, registration license tax is not reduced. However, if you have retired from the first company representative or the first company is closed, you may be entitled to a reduction in registration license tax.
In order to receive a reduction in registration license tax, it is necessary to submit a certificate of attendance at seminars and other events to the Legal Affairs Bureau at the time of registration. If you have already completed registration, you will not be able to receive the benefits of registration license tax reduction.
Each benefit includes conditions and examination. Please note that this does not mean that everyone who receives support will receive this benefit.

Each seminar has its own characteristics that make use of the know-how of each business operator.

If I start a business in another city, can I use a certificate from Yokohama City to benefit?

It depends on the merits you want to receive, so please check with the certificate submission address.
(About application of small business sustainability subsidy, we can use certificate of Yokohama-shi.)

Can I benefit if a person other than the representative of the corporation (or a corporation) attends a seminar?

If a non-corporate representative attends a seminar, you will not be eligible for benefits.
The seminar must be attended by the representative himself/herself.

How do I apply for a certificate after attending the seminar?

Students need to apply for a certificate issuance to Yokohama City.

Can I visit the city hall and ask questions?

You can also meet and ask questions to the staff in charge at the city hall, but please make a reservation by phone in advance as the charge may be absent.
