Measures against storm and flood damage at hazardous materials facilities
Last Updated June 14, 2021
To all business establishments that own hazardous materials facilities
Heavy rain and typhoon No. 21 in July 2018 caused a large number of damages due to flooding and strong winds at dangerous goods facilities such as gas stations and dangerous goods warehouses. Based on these circumstances, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will ensure prompt and accurate emergency measures according to the possible disaster risks (risk of flooding, landslide disasters, etc.) in places where dangerous goods facilities are located due to typhoons, etc. The Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has issued the "Guidelines for Flood Damage Countermeasures for Dangerous Goods Facilities" (hereinafter referred to as "Guidelines").
For business establishments that have dangerous goods facilities, please use the guidelines when taking measures against storm and flood damage.
