FAQs

Q
What should I do when conducting soil surveys based on laws and regulations?
A

If a soil survey based on laws and regulations is required, ask a designated survey organization (outside site). The designated research organization first judges the risk of contamination by investigating the history of the land, and if necessary, conducts soil gas surveys and soil collection surveys. After that, land owners should submit a soil contamination status survey result report to Yokohama City.

Q
If the lessee is conducting a business dealing with specific hazardous substances on the land rented, the landowner needs to conduct a soil survey at the time of abolition or change of traits, but what should I do with the cost?
A

The soil contamination status survey result report must be submitted in the name of the landowner, but the cost burden is not stipulated by law, so it can be freely decided with the lessee.

Q
As a result of a soil survey, soil contamination was confirmed, but can land be bought and sold?
A

If soil contamination is confirmed as a result of a survey based on laws and regulations, it will be designated as an area, but there is no restriction on the sale of land.
